It’s your HEADLINE, also known as, your HOOK!
If you don’t mind 10 minutes of work, the best thing you could do right now (or schedule time later on your calendar) is to go through any existing blog posts, video titles, any other content where you used a headline and use the exercise I'm about to show you to give your content a power boost.

Why does this matter? Headlines matter, like REALLY matter because headlines are the hook to your content.

Can images be your headline?

Images can sometimes be the hook too, but the headline typically acts as the single most important part of your blog posts, your social media posts, and your sales pages.

The headline needs to be scroll proof - now what do I mean by scroll proof? I mean people are scrolling through their news feeds and you don’t want them to scroll past your post. A good headline gets people to STOP what they're doing and START paying attention to what you have to say.

It’s very simple, let me teach you!

There are 6 questions and you’re going to answer each one.

  • Question #1: What is the main keyword (1 - 3 words) of your topic?
  • Question #2: Who is your target market?
  • Question #3: What’s the area of interest or concern?
  • Question #4: What do they need to do?
  • Question #5: What’s the big payoff they want?
  • Question #6: Who or what is standing in their way?

Let me give you an example of what the responses may look like.

The example is with an Academic Reading Teacher.

  • Question #1: What is the main keyword (1 - 3 words) of your topic?  Child's Reading Skills
  • Question #2: Who is your target market? Parents
  • Question #3: What’s the area of interest or concern? Comprehensive reading for children.
  • Question #4: What do they need to do? Make reading fun.
  • Question #5: What’s the big payoff they want? Improve your child's reading level.
  • Question #6: Who or what is standing in their way? Lack of reading interest.

Madlib your way to captivating headlines

Do you remember Madlibs when you were a kid? Well here’s the Madlib sentence...

To ____(#5)____ Faster, ____(#4)_____ This Way!

Answer to Question #5 is the answer you put for 5. Answer to Question #4 is the answer you fill in for 4. Pretty simple right?

Let's go back to the example. The answer to question #5 was to improve your child's reading level. And the answer to 4 was to make reading fun.

So this turns into To Improve Your Child’s Reading Level Faster, Make Reading Fun This Way

Easy, right? Let's do another one!

The Dangerous Truth About ____(#1)_____.

The answer for #1 was: Child's Reading Skills

So this turns into The Dangerous Truth About Child's Reading Skills

In the example I just did, the grammar doesn’t flow that well. So in some situations, you may have the tweak the headline as such: The Dangerous Truth About *Your* Child's Reading Skills.

All I did was add the word, your to make it should proper.

These headlines are written in a way to create curiosity for the reader. To improve "X" make "Y" this way. Or, The Dangerous Truth about "Z"... Well, what is it? It is intriguing and brings the reader in wanting to learn more.

Now all you have to do is go back to the content you have and see if you can improve any of the headlines and give your content a fresh and quick boost without really trying.

Do not use these headlines for your webinar title but using them on a blog post or social media post to promote your webinar is perfectly fine.
